Jeff Monroe will not return for the 2016 football season at North Sand Mountain. After improving from a 1-9 season in 2014, the Bison went 7-5 last year winning only the third playoff game in school history. Coach Monroe leaves after just two seasons with a 8-14 record. He announced after the last game of the season of his plans to retire after 26 years of coaching and teaching. | |
Keith Kirby, a 1999 graduate of North Sand Mountain, will be the head football coach at the school for the 2016 season. This will be his first head coaching position. | |
